Lirica
is
part
of
the
fleet
of
MSC
Cruises.
The
ship
was
built
in
2003
by
the
French
shipyard
STX
France
in
Saint-Nazaire.
When
the
ship
was
docked
in
Antwerp
it
was
one
of
the
largest
ships
ever
to
dock
at
the
Scheldt
quays
in
the
city.
In
2015
MSC
Lirica
was
lengthened
by
24
metres
to
275
metres.
For
this
the
ship
was
cut
in
two
and
a
new
section
was
placed
in
between.
But
because
the
ship
is
now
longer
than
the
maximum
length
of
ships
that
can
visit
Antwerp
it
will
no
longer
be
able
for
the
ship
to
reach
the
Scheldt
quays.
